Soteska is a settlement on the left bank of the river Krka in the Dolenjske Toplice municipality in Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local parish church is dedicated to Saint Erasmus and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Novo Mesto. It is a medieval building that was restyled in the Baroque in the 17th century.[3]
Soteska Castle is now a ruin. It stood on the banks of the river Krka and was built by the Gallenberg family in the second half of the 17th century. It was burnt down in the Second World War. The gardens in the castle grounds survive.[4]
